Vivat Böhmen - a replica of the oldest porcelain product in existence from the Klášterec porcelain manufacturers in Western Bohemia.
The first porcelain manufacturer in Bohemia was established in 1792 in Horní Slavkov; the start of porcelain production at the Klášterec manufacturers dates back to between 1793 - 1794. The oldest known example of Czech porcelain production dates from this period: a teacup with saucer from 1794 which bears the inscription “Vivat Böhmen”.
Made in the workshops of Atelier JM Lesov, this product is a replica of that historical teacup and saucer. The original can be found in the collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.
